Where to stay guide for North Wales
We are unable to book accommodation on your behalf, but we can provide advice and suggestions regarding location and type of accommodation.
Accommodation in the heartland Zones 1 & 2 are ideally placed for touring as this will reduce the time spent travelling to and from the most frequently requested places to visit. They are also an ideal central location for a multi-day tour for exploring the whole of North Wales. As you can see from the map the Celticos base is ideally located.

A brief introduction of the accommodation zones:
Zone 1. Snowdonia: Caernarfon, Llanberis and Bangor
This area is ideal if you want an authentic experience in the heartland of the Welsh-speaking area. A wide variety of accommodation is available in this rural area with its striking scenery. You can choose to stay on the coast or a few miles inland in the Snowdonia National Park. This zone is also an ideal base to visit the island of Anglesey and for arrivals and departures from Holyhead port. Bangor is the best-located rail station if you are travelling by train with direct services to London, Cardiff and Chester, etc.
Zone 2. Isle of Anglesey
The island of Anglesey is an ideal base to tour the beautiful island known as Môn Mam Cymru –the mother of Wales. The contrast between the gentler landscape of the island and the mountainous mainland is very apparent. The island is also an ideal base for touring Snowdonia and for attractive locations like Menai Bridge on the Menai Strait. It is also conveniently close to Bangor rail station. The regular ferries to Dublin, Ireland depart from Holyhead.
Zone 3. Conwy and Llandudno
Llandudno is a busy Victorian seaside resort with an ample and varied accommodation offering. Conwy, well known for its castle is much smaller and also has accommodation. Llandudno and Conwy have railway stations but Llandudno Junction station on the main line offers a very comprehensive service.
Zone 4. Conwy Valley
The Conwy Valley is a very fertile valley on the edge of the mountainous area of the Snowdonia National Park. Llanrwst and Betws Y Coed are just a few options to consider. Llandudno Junction is the nearest railway station on the main line.
Zone 5. South Snowdonia
This is an ideal location to visit the spectacular Llyn Peninsula, Harlech and of course the famous Portmeirion village.
